Finance Assistant
FROM THE WORKSITE...

That age-old adage “Rome wasn’t built in a day” may be a cliché but everyone has to start somewhere. From humble beginnings we began shipping protective eyewear from our bedroom. With support from our amazing community of customers SafeStyle quickly outgrew our original worksite. Well that, and Dad wanted us out of the house. Fast-forward a few years and we’re growing rapidly and need to put out a call for help.

Our mission has, and always will be, simple: to provide fashion-forward protective eyewear that anyone can wear from the worksite to the weekend.

With our roots firmly planted in home soil, we collaborate with some of the biggest names in Australia and seek to set a footprint globally. Our goal is world domination, but not at the expense of Mother Nature. We aspire to give back to the community and put the environment at the forefront of everything we do.

Are You A Legend?

In this hands-on role, you’ll join our core finance squad, supporting the day-to-day running of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.

You’ll work closely with Sales, Customer Service and Finance to resolve account issues, maintain accurate records, and deliver a consistently high standard of internal and external service.

This is a newly created role in a growing team and suits someone who takes pride in accuracy, enjoys problem-solving, understands that priorities can evolve and is comfortable adapting as the business scales.

A Day In The Life Of You...

Accounts Receivable

  • Reconciling customer payments across systems, channels and regions
  • Managing debtor ageing, collections and credit risk
  • Investigating and resolving billing issues and variances
  • Preparing rebate calculations and AR reporting

Accounts Payable

  • Processing supplier invoices (local and international)
  • Managing approvals, reconciliations and supplier payments
  • Maintaining supplier records and expense coding
  • Supporting staff expenses, credit cards and foreign currency payments

Controls & Collaboration

  • Maintaining clean, audit-ready financial records
  • Managing the shared accounts inbox and responding to queries
  • Supporting month-end and financial close activities
  • Working closely with Sales, Customer Service and Finance to resolve issues
Skills That Pay Tha Billz!

We don’t expect perfection - but these will help you nail it:

  • Experience in AR, AP or a similar finance support role
  • Comfortable and confident speaking with customers by phone, including following up overdue accounts
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in accuracy
  • A team-first mindset and willingness to adapt in a growing business
  • Experience with accounting systems - NetSuite experience is desirable, but not essential (Xero or similar is great too)
  • A proactive approach - you take ownership and follow things through
  • Trust, discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive financial information
