How often do I need to replace my SafeStyle®️ safety glasses?

While Australian Standards do not specify a set replacement schedule for protective eyewear, it’s important to replace your SafeStyle®️ safety glasses when necessary. This could be due to normal wear and tear or if they’ve effectively protected your eyes from a significant impact. We recommend replacing them once they show signs of damage, such as large scratches, cracks, or any decrease in clarity, to ensure continued optimal protection.

Please note: rules on replacement safety glasses may vary by site. Check with your health and Safety representative for more information specific to you.

How do you know If I've got a pair of certified safety glasses?

All certified safety glasses will have the five tick SAI Global Standards and AS/NZS 1337.1 markings somewhere on the frame. It’s important to check for these markings when you choose safety glasses so that you know they are certified and safe for Australian worksites.

You can find the SAI Global and AS/NZS 1337.1 markings on our packaging, as well as on the arm of our safety glasses! Every frame in the SafeStyle Protective Eyewear range has undergone rigorous testing to ensure that they meet the safety and performance criteria outlined in the certification standards through SAI Global.

It is important to look for this indicator to ensure authenticity - maintaining safety and protection from the worksite to the weekend!

Please note - avoid solvent based solutions as this can cause significant damage to the frame and lens coatings - and damage the integrity of your SafeStyles.

How do I use the SafeStyle®️ Anti-fog spray on SafeStyle®️ lenses?

How to use the SafeStyle®️ Anti-Fog spray:

1. Remove any dust or debris for on and around the lenses - the recommended best practice, is to use the SafeStyle®️ lens cleaner, but a quick rinse under water does the job too. Remove any excess water.

2. Using the SafeStyle®️ Anti-fog Spray - lightly apply the solution on the inside of the lens, and gently wipe dry using the provided microfibre cleaning cloth. Avoid applying to the outside of the lens, it’s not necessary and may affect visibility or coatings!

3. Reapply as required - and get stuck in!

How do I clean my SafeStyle®️ safety glasses?

We know SafeStylers like to get stuck in! To clean your SafeStyle®️ safety glasses properly, start by rinsing them under lukewarm water to wash away loose dust, dirt, or salt. Next, spray with the SafeStyle®️ Cleaning Spray which is designed specifically for SafeStyle pairs to remove grime without harming the frames or lenses. Wipe them gently clean with provided microfibre cloth to make sure no dirt or smudges are left behind.

When cleaning your lenses and frames, it is important to clear all areas of debris. This is to prevent scratching of your lenses or frames when wiping. Small particles can cause scratches when wiping clean.

If you’re using the SafeStyle®️ Anti-Fog Spray, apply it only to the inside of the lenses as need - this helps reduce fogging without affecting visual clarity or coatings.

Avoid using any chemical or alcohol-based products - as these can damaged your eyewear over time!

You can check out the SafeStyle®️ cleaning spray here, and the SafeStyle®️ Anti-Fog spray here!

What should I do if my SafeStyle®️ safety glasses are peeling?

Proper care plays a crucial role in preserving your SafeStyles. Much like clothing that requires regular washing to stay fresh and in good condition, SafeStyles also need gentle cleaning to prevent issues like paint peeling. Dust, oils, and debris can build up over time and, if left uncleaned, may impact the finish and longevity of the frame.

Using the SafeStyle®️ Cleaning Spray is the recommended best practice to prevent any damage!

We often see peeling when our pairs are exposed to sunscreen and insect repellant. Of course, we appreciate that sunscreen and insect repellant go hand in hand with eye protection - but being aware, and removing any excess product goes a long way in maintaining longevity!
