Hybrids Photochromic Safety Glasses
Experience adaptive protection with the SafeStyle Hybrids. Their UV-activated photochromic lens is perfect for those frequently switching between indoor and outdoor environments. The Hybrids adjust to changing light conditions, ensuring optimal clarity and protection wherever you go.
How do photochromic lenses work?
Photochromic lenses are uv-activated. This means that when they're exposed to direct sunlight, the lenses darken to a tinted state. When you move inside with less UV exposure, the lenses return to clear.
How long do photochromic safety glasses take to darken?
It typically takes around 30 to 60 seconds for photochromic lenses to adjust to the light conditions.
Are SafeStyle photochromic safety glasses AS/NZS 1337.1+ certified?
Yes, like all SafeStyle pairs, all of our Hybrids photochromic is safety certified for use on Australian worksites.
Can I use photochromic lenses for driving?
Photochromic lenses can be used for driving; however, the UV filters in your car windows will stop the lenses from darkening, and so the lenses will always be in a clear state in the car.
Photochromic vs Polarised - which lens is better for outdoor work?
It depends on how long you're working outside for. If you're working outdoors for long periods of time in the bright Aussie sun, then polarised lenses are a much better option. If you're often going from inside to out, photochromic lenses are the much better choice and will adapt to the conditions quickly. Or, if you're outside in cloudy or overcast conditions, photochromic lenses will be better and will change in tint depending on the light conditions.
