SafeStyle is excited to introduce our second Art Series pair in collaboration with artist, Kerry Everett.

$5 From each pair sold will be donated to Lions Outback Vision to help improve access to quality eye health care services in remote communities.

In the Dreaming, all is connected - the land, the water, the sky, and the creatures that walk, swim, and fly in between. The sun rises over the horizon, its golden rays reaching down to warm the earth, bringing life and light. This is the beginning of the journey.

In the sky above, the spirits swirl and dance among the clouds, guiding the cycles of nature. The rivers below are filled with fish, their ancient wisdom carried by the currents. The cool blue waters nourish the earth, feeding the plants and animals that call this land home. Kangaroos bound across the red earth, their powerful legs kicking up dust as they travel in harmony with the land. Beneath the earth, the roots of trees reach deep into the soil, where they connect with the past, grounding the present and future in ancient knowledge. The boab trees, with their strong trunks and wide arms, stand as sentinels, holding stories of generations that came before. Their roots speak of resilience, connection, and survival, offering shelter and wisdom to those who know where to look.

At the centre of this world, the patterns of circles and dots spiral out, symbolizing the gathering of communities, the sharing of knowledge, and the importance of togetherness. These sacred circles represent the ties that bind family, culture, and spirit — a reminder that we are all part of something larger than ourselves.

As the day fades into night, the stars begin to twinkle in the sky, carrying the stories of the ancestors who walked this land long ago. They watch over the people, the animals, the trees, and the rivers, ensuring that the balance is kept, and the wisdom of the Dreaming continues to flow through all things.

A personal goal of mine at SafeStyle was to collaborate with an Indigenous artist and showcase their artwork on a pair of SafeStyles. The aim was to generate donations from the sales of this pair to support Indigenous foundations and give back to the community. I’m proud to say we achieved this goal in 2023 with the release of our first Art Series Charity Pair, created in close collaboration with Francis Watson.

Two years on, and with $41,145 raised for Lions Outback Vision, we remain committed to continuing this mission of supporting communities across Australia. That’s why we’ve now partnered with Kerry Everett, who we were introduced to through the team at Lions Outback Vision.

The SafeStyle team is excited to unite once again to raise awareness, bridge gaps, and continue our support for Lions Outback Vision in their crucial mission to prevent blindness and vision loss in regional, remote, and Indigenous communities across Western Australia.

Our shared goal with Lions Outback Vision is to improve access to quality eye health care and make a meaningful impact on the lives of those who need it most.

I feel incredibly grateful to once again be in a position where SafeStyle can collaborate with Lions Outback Vision and now with artist Kerry Everett. I look forward to seeing this partnership continue to grow.

I hope our donations help Lions Outback Vision reach their goals, expand their support network, and one day provide assistance to all Indigenous communities across Australia.

Lions Outback Vision’s Mission is to prevent blindness and vision loss among regional, remote and Indigenous Western Australian’s by improving access to quality eye health care services.

94% of vision loss in Indigenous Australians is preventable or treatable, however,
an alarming 35% of Indigenous adults have never had an eye exam.

Each year, thousands of Australians suffer the debilitating effects of vision loss and blindness. There is a substantial gap in eye health between rural and remote Western Australians and their urban counterparts. People living in rural and remote Australia needlessly experience higher rates of blinding eye disease.

Lions Outback Vision aims to address the unique challenges of delivering quality specialist eye health care to regional, remote and Indigenous communities across our state. They currently provide specialist eye healthcare services throughout the Pilbara, Kimberley, Goldfields, Midwest and Great Southern regions of Western Australia.

We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Australians and Traditional Custodians of the lands where we live, learn and work.
