A Committed
Company
Revolutionising protective eyewear
for a sustainable future.
Tim Lewis, Managing Director had always wanted to create a brand that can give back to the community. SafeStyle have proudly partnered with organisations like the National Breast Cancer Foundtion, Lifeline, and Lions Outback Vision, contributing over $150k to support community outreach and vital research.
But our journey doesn't stop there, we are embarking on the next evolution of our brand - joining the battle against waste in the protective eyewear industry and we want you to join us.
The pla-sticking
point
The sticking point of an industry
that contributes significantly
to landfill is the process itself.
Every year millions of pairs of safety eyewear are manufactured and discarded after use. This eyewear ends up directly in landfill and contributes to an ever growing pile of pollution, a consumerism driven problem that is hard to stop.
With no mechanism to close the loop the problem continues to grow year-over-year.
through our lens
understanding that we are a part of
both the problem and the solution.
We aim to become the first safety eyewear company in Australia to actively seek to recycle, not only our own products, but other brands safety eyewear as well. To mitigate against the amount of waste we, as an industry, contribute to landfill every year.
Wearable waste
putting recycled polycarbonate
back to work.
The ultimate goal of the SafeStyle Recycling Program is to close-the-loop by taking discarded polycarbonate and repurposing into new eyewear certified for the very industries that they came from. In doing so we hope to remove execssive bloat from the process and lead the industry in a forward march towards greater sustainability.
Safe, Stylish and sustainable eyewear,
that is the future of SafeStyle.
A Collective
Effort
this is where you come in.
Recycle your protective eyewear with SafeStyle today.
Faq

Is this recycle bin for all protective eyewear or just SafeStyle?

You can recycle ALL protective eyewear brands in this bin, including goggles and face shields.

Why can't I recycle my glasses in a standard recycle bin?

Most safety glasses are made out of polycarbonate material which is not one of the recyclable plastics in Australia, which means it goes straight to landfill and can’t be put in a roadside bin.

Where will these glasses be recycled?

It will be taken to a specialised recycling facility in Australia.

What will they be turned into?

Because polycarbonate material is an extremely durable plastic, it takes a long time to break down in landfill but is a high quality material when recycled/ repurposed. This means, once recycled it can be used in a range of construction materials e.g. roofing materials, construction of bus shelters, hard hats and especially new eyewear.

How can I get a recycling bin at my workplace?

Send us an email recycling@safestyle.com.au. Please include your postcode, state and business name.
